UK/US Spellings
As a proofreader and copy editor, one of the things I find myself correcting the most is UK/US spellings. The majority of my clients are based in the UK and predominantly operating within local, regional or national markets. Some have a broader reach – including into Europe and beyond – but still, UK-based businesses ought to be producing content in British not American English. It is not always easy, though, to recognise and remember the differences between the two. Some of the spelling variations are very minor and easy to miss! Can YOU spot the difference?
