According to a Global Lingo poll of 1,029 adults in the UK, 59% of Britons said they would NOT use a company that had obvious grammatical or spelling errors on its website or in its written material. I suspect that figure could be a lot higher. Let’s face it, bad spelling gives a terrible first impression. What it often communicates is lack of care and attention, low standards, lack of professionalism and lack of competence. Luckily, we can all get better at spelling through practice.
